Marty Sarussi

Marty began swimming at the age of four at a local swim club in his hometown of La Grange, IL. After getting his feet wet with summer league competition, he joined AAU swimming with Lyons Swim Club, and subsequently Hinsdale Swim Club.  He earned his first All American recognition at the age of 12 for the 1650 Freestyle and several relays. High School took him to Baltimore, MD, where he swam under the watchful eye of coach Murray Stephens with Loyola Blakefield High School and US Swimming's North Baltimore Aquatic Club . He attended Junior National Championships in three seasons for Butterfly and IM and yearly Prep-School and Maryland State Championships. Varsity Swimming at the University of Illinois took him to the Big Ten Championships each year primarily for Freestyle and Butterfly events.  Marty began coaching Masters Swimming in 1993 with the Chicago Smelts and has been coaching the Sunfish since its inception in December 2003.

Kim Pinch

Kim learned to swim in group swim lessons in a family pool overlooking the ocean in Nahant, MA.  Her favorite part of those lessons was being allowed to slide down the fifteen foot slide at the conclusion of lessons.  She then began swimming as a minnow at the Lynn YMCA.  Swimming took her through Age Group Championships for the YMCA, high school State Championships, and US Swimming New England and Connecticut Age Group and Senior Championships and Junior National Championships with Bernal's Gators Swim Club.  Attending Boston University in Boston, MA, Kim focused on Breastroke and sprint Freestyle events and competed in four Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships .  She has focused most of her swimming knowledge on giving private and group swim lessons to young athletes and has been a coach with the Sunfish since October 2006.
